An interview with our hiring manager

What was your first job?

Good old McDonald’s at the age of 14. I stayed for several years, working my way up from crew member to shift manager by age 16.

What’s a fun fact that you’d like to share?

I was a competitive swimmer from age 9 to 29, swimming for a summer recreation league, my high school swim team, and a few different master’s swim teams after graduating. The 500M Freestyle and 200M Individual Medley were my races of choice!

What are your hobbies? What do you do in your spare time?

My grandmother taught me how to cross stitch when I was 10, which I still enjoy doing today. I taught myself how to crochet during the COVID lockdown in 2020 and you’ll often find me working on a blanket or an amigurumi toy while watching reality competition shows. Or psychological thrillers, depending on the mood.

How is Origina different from any other company you have worked for in the past?

Origina has a clear vision to change the software world, and the leadership and organizational culture to make it happen. Transparency permeates the company at every level, making it clear where we are, where we’re headed, and what we’re doing to get there. It is a refreshing change of pace at Origina, with a unique blend of transparency, innovation, and personal growth that is hard to find elsewhere. What does a typical day look like for a Head of Content at Origina?

My days are full of collaboration across many facets of the business, which keeps me on my toes as the needs vary from strategy development to project management and everything in between. I may be running a content team meeting one moment, discussing channel partner support strategies in another, and diving into SEO and website development the next. I spend time with my fellow marketing leadership team discussing our marketing goals and cross-functional initiatives and with my team of content writers and designers to provide content and creative direction. It’s my job to ensure all our content serves clear business objectives through any marketing channel it may be used.

What interview tips would you have for someone applying for a role with Origina?

Have confidence in the value you bring to the role you’re interviewing for, even if your résumé or CV isn’t a perfect fit for the job description.
